AP Studio Art Communication Task: Prepare a commentary to support your Concentration Portfolio by responding to these questions:

1. What is the central idea of your Concentration?

2. How does the work in your Concentration demonstrate the exploration of your idea? You may refer to specific pieces as examples.

 

A good Concentration statement gives a clear and concise verbal accompaniment to the visual work; it will convey a sense of the direction of investigation in the Concentration and provide insights into what you have learnt in the process of doing the work.

This is the rubric we developed to assess the written & oral. 

 

Advanced	Proficient	Developing	Beginning
Compelling oral delivery with cadence (exceptional emphasis placed).	Concentration concept is clearly expressed.   Personal ‘voice’ is evident in the statement.   In the Voicethread: The work and the concentration statement have a close relationship.   Oral delivery is congruent with the intention of the folio.	Concentration concept is clear.   Some personal ‘voice’ is evident in the statement.   In the Voicethread: The work and the concentration description may include several loosely related ideas.  Oral delivery is incongruent with the intention of the folio.	Concentration concept is unclear or unconvincing.   Personal ‘voice’ is not evident in the statement yet.   In the Voicethread: The work shows little or no evidence of drawing competence.   Oral delivery lacks conviction or confidence.
